Liquid rubber is proving to be an effective solution for roof repair. The photo's below show a metal roof on an industrial facility near Edmonton, Alberta (Nisku, AB) that we recently repaired with liquid rubber roof coating.
The roof coating process is;
- Pressure wash and clean the roof
- Tape off areas that liquid rubber should not be applied to
- Replace all loose fasteners and do any sheet metal repairs required
- Use a trowel grade liquid rubber (400% elasticity) to the fasteners, openings, penetrations, curbs, etc (in this instance the roof to wall area was coated as snow and ice build up gets in the roof to wall connection)
- Apply first coat of liquid rubber with sprayer (900% elasticity)
- Apply second coat of liquid rubber opposite direction to be sure all seams and fasteners, roof units, curbs, wall to roof area, etc. are one monolithic seamless roof system

- Liquid rubber can be used to coat tar and gravel and torch on flat roofing also.
If you have a metal roof that becomes difficult to manage from a repair and maintenance perspective due to expansion and contraction of metal panels at seams, fasteners, and penetrations... liquid rubber is the best alternative.
